The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) 2007 Global Report was released last Friday. It’s a global report on entrepreneurship directed by Babson College and London Business School.
I’ve yet to find time to read the full report, but their press release notes that:
Entrepreneurship is going global—in some GEM countries, 40% of early-stage entrepreneurs expected 24% or more of their customers to come from outside the country.
It’s good to know that so many entrepreneurs and small business owners are looking to target global markets, I suspect it’s the result of many of them starting up Internet based businesses or looking to use the Internet to sell worldwide.
The full report is available here. Having just read Scott Shane’s The Illusions Of Entrepreneurship it’ll be interesting to compare their findings.
