Everything Is Negotiable is a practical and easy to read guide to negotiating. It is based on the authors Everything Is Negotiable seminar and has been constantly improved since the original 1982 edition.
Gavin Kennedy is the founder of Negotiate and is a leading figure in the world of negotiation. He has also authored the Negotiation and Influence modules for the Edinburgh Business School distance learning MBA and has recently written the Strategic Negotiation Module for their new DBA programme.
Whether you are looking to improve you negotiating skills as a business person or on a personal level you’ll learn something from this book.
Each chapter of the book addresses a specific issue and ends with a series of self-assessment tests to reinforce the points made. Answers are used to grade your approach to negotiation. Through the use of stories and the self-assessment test it does the difficult job of getting you to think hard about your own negotiating abilities without being critical.
This is a book that I think every entrepreneur should own.
You can buy it from Amazon UK or Amazon USA.

This blog is about business opportunities and ideas that I spot, think of or hear about and think are useful and interesting. It is intended to provide ideas and inspriation for you to help you find the right business idea for you to then grow it into a successful business.

Wonder if Amazon will accept £1 for it instead of the advertised price?
I doubt it - you’d need to be able to speak to a human first - but you could try the author, as he’s got a new edition coming out later this year he might have some copies to offload…
That would be quite funny if loads of people got in touch with the author to negotiate a price for it. He’d only have himself to blame.
I doubt he’d see it that way. I suspect he’d view it as a great opportunity to sell to them (I would) and if they want the book then he’s negotiating from a position of strength as he has no pressure on him to drop the price unless they have something to offer him (i.e. they buy something else).
