I’ve never bought more than 500 at a time and despite being an avid networker have never yet run out. I only end up buying more if our contact details change. If however you’d like the challenge of getting rid of 5,000 double-sided, full-colour business cards then you might like to visit the YoungGoGetter blog and enter their business card competition. All you have to do to enter is write a post on your blog about business cards by the 19th October. They’re so nice they even give you some ideas for topics.
So if I’d never need that many for networking what would I do with 5,000 business? I think I’d be tempted to get five different designs done for the business cards putting a different set of hints and tips on each. I’ve then got an excuse the give each person at least five of my business cards (they’ve got less chance of loosing them all) and in the process I’ve got a chance to demonstrate my expertise and the value they can gain from working with me.
If I was a graphic designer I might just put some interesting designs on one side to show off my portfolio. If I was into motivational coaching I’d have motivational images and quotes and try to make them into “collectables”. If I had a restaurant or cafe I’ve have them printed up with an offer and then hand them out on the street.
So what are you ideas for getting rid of 5,000 business cards?

This blog is about business opportunities and ideas that I spot, think of or hear about and think are useful and interesting. It is intended to provide ideas and inspriation for you to help you find the right business idea for you to then grow it into a successful business.

If I had a restaurant I would turn the front into a “Introduce a Friend” message, and on the back I would print a loyalty reward card, front-end loaded to reward new customers.
I would then give multiple copies to customers friends and staff, and provide a healthy prize pool for anybody that introduces new customers.
In-fact, I think I will go buy a restaurant….
I think you should, for some reason I get the feeling it would do well… I wonder why?
