I’ve recently come across The Rich Jerk a rather unique approach to marketing an ebook on how to make millions on the Internet. While I don’t buy these kinds of books - after all you can learn most of what’s in it by reading sites like the A4UForum or Threadwatch and I’ve been in this game for several years now. I do really admire the marketing of this one. Sure it’s going to annoy the hell out of a lot of people but they probably wouldn’t have brought it anyway. Here’s an example of his marketing:

Let’s get something straight. I’m a jerk. I’m obnoxious. I’m mean. I’m nasty. And I’m lazy. But I don’t care, because I’m FILTHY RICH.
Not an approach many of us could take for our businesses but for what he’s selling it’s a brilliant way to be different, after all there are thousands of ebooks out there that can tell you how to get rich on the Internet, so standing out from the crowd is important.

While I love your blog, I think you might add an edit here to mention that the Rich Jerk was really a jerk who scammed people. He recently declared bankruptcy and the site is for sale.
I don’t believe it was a scam - although with all these things I don’t believe the earnings they claim. Buyer Beware!
I’ve been sent a copy of the ebook by a reader and while there’s nothing you can’t learn for free on many of the Internet marketing forums, for $14.95 I think it’s worth buying, if it saves you some time*. It’s certainly not going to make you rich on it’s own, you’re still going to have to be creative and put in the hard work.
For the price I’d also buy it to study the marketing and branding which is brash, in your face and rude but effective in differentiating the product.
I’d just be careful about buying any follow on products… again, and this applies to all such ebooks buyer beware.
