After the Million Dollar Homepage and all the numerous copycat versions it’s tempting to dismiss anything with the “million dollar” in the title, yet Graham Langdon’s Million Dollar Wiki is actually a new twist on the idea. Instead of offering pixels he is offering a page on a Wiki (a wiki is a site that can be edited by it’s users) which you can do whatever you as the owner can use for whatever purpose you like. In return for the $100 he is promising to keep the site live for at least 15 years.
It’s off to a good start having sold 292 pages to date brining in a total of $29,200 - that ought to help with his student debt. Looking at the sites Alexa rank it’s clear just how effective getting buzz about your project can be, in just two months he’s achieving a one week average of 5,879 which is pretty impressive, if that traffic continues over the medium to long term it’ll have proved to be a good investment, however for Search Engine Optimisation purposes it may not be as valuable given Google’s hatred of paid links.
It’s a good idea for an Internet business, the only problem being the fact that it is not repeatable - he can’t do The Million Dollar Wiki 2 - but unlike the Million Dollar Homepage he does at least have an almost infinite number of pages he can sell.

This blog is about business opportunities and ideas that I spot, think of or hear about and think are useful and interesting. It is intended to provide ideas and inspriation for you to help you find the right business idea for you to then grow it into a successful business.

While you are right in that we cannot do the Million Dollar Wiki 2, we do retain 20% of the proceeds from all future sales of pages. We consider it our brokerage fee.
This will ensure business thrives into the future once we open up pages for resale and earn a healthy commission on each sale.
True, plus there are an almost infinite number of combinations of pages, i.e. while business is gone green business might not be, or business books etc.
I bought a Million Dollar Wiki page. I actually own the Marketing Page and so far, I’ve already made my $100 back. It’s pretty neat, there is full support for every issue you could possibly have and, well I’m not the only one who has made my $100 back. In fact, I now have a coupon code so people can get $5 off of their page purchases. The code is: k5webworks, If you want to buy a page, just punch this code in on the checkout page and you just saved 5 bucks. Anyway, I belive MDW has now reached over 400 pages sold. Graham is a pretty smart guy in my book. Oh, and to see one of the best pages in action: http://www.milliondollarwiki.com/marketing
