Field Marketing This Time It’s The Simpsons

on July 17th, 2007

simpsonsLast month we had MyPrivateDance.com on the flight path to Gatwick. This month it’s Homer Simpson in his underwear next to the Cerne Giant in Dorset promoting the upcoming Simpsons movie.

I’m starting to worry that this’ll become the future of England’s green and pleasant land…

ha ha ha, we spotted this as well and yep, I agree there will be a load of these pop up, just as there was for google’s satellite image thing a few years ago.

Personally I find them quite a good talking point but the danger is when some amateur companies try to do it for PR, use the wrong paint or alike to mark the ground and then it turns into an eco nightmare.

Good move by the simpson though, they have now ran several campaigns specific to one country that has crossed boundaries and been of promotional value elsewhere (I saw that “Homer on the Hill” was featured on the high profile “Paris Match” as well yesterday)

    Gosh I ramble :-)

The obviously work as myprivatedance.com got so much traffic their server fell over and a lot of the traffic then came here - and was probably very dissapointed! ;)
