Getting paid to surf is a simple concept, you get paid to surf the Internet usually based on the number of hours you are online, but how does it work? Most paid to surf schemes follow this basic formula:
- To join, you provide details of yourself, including an email address.
- You download their software that installs an advertising banner linked to your Internet browser.
- While you are surfing the Internet, advertisements are displayed in the advertising banner and your connected time is logged by the service. You get paid for how long you are online.
- When you have “earned” enough, the service sends you a cheque.
Sounds simple, but the reality is you will only make around $0.50 per hour, with some programmes limiting the number of hours per month you can take part.
Quite often these programmes claim you can earn a significant amount of money but to do so you’ll need to do more than just surf the Internet, you’ll need to recruit new members to the Paid to Surf programme. You’ll then receive a payment for each hour they spend on the programme, typically referrals go a number of levels deep enabling you to build up quite a big network.
The newest get paid to surf scheme is Agloco which recently launched. Their scheme does not pay by the hour, but instead gives you a share of the revenue earner from the advertisements on the viewbar. In addition they are offering to pay users in stocks as well as cash.
There are claims that many of these schemes are scams, some no doubt are, so make sure you research each paid to surf opportunity before getting involved.
