I saw over on the Shell Livewire Forums that Leonard Cheshire and Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou are joining forces to find the UK’s disabled entrepreneur of the Year 2007. They are looking for a disabled entrepreneur who has shown that the barriers placed in the way of disabled people have not stopped them in their quest for success in business. The winning entrepreneur will be presented with a cheque for £50,000 at the British Chamber of Commerce’s prestigious Chamber Awards ceremony to be held at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London on Thursday 29 November 2007.
The prize will be awarded to a disabled person who can show the judges how this amount would make a major difference to their business. Entrants must have a personal ownership in the business of not less than 40% and the business must have been trading for no more than three years by the date of entry. The deadline for entries is no later than 5.00pm on Friday 14 September 2007.
