A few days ago I was asked if there is any money to be made from Internet dating. I replied that there is but I didn’t manage to put it quite as succinctly as Seth Godin:
Everyone is lonely. People spend money (and make money) and join organizations and invest time and enormous energy to solve this problem. Every day.
He’s right and it’s not just online dating that is a great business opportunity, it’s any service that allows people to meet other like minded people, be that for dates, for sports, as part of a hobby or to do business.
