As we’ve got a kid on the way I find myself having to think of babies and the experience of being a parent and one thing that I’m sure all new parents do (perhaps too much) is try to record everything their new baby does.
I’ve also been reflecting on my own childhood recently having described to my wife how lucky I was to be able to do so many things that others will never experience. One thing that did occur to me though is how much I’ve forgotten and how cool it would be if I could show her some pictures of me at 12 or 13 along with an insight into what I was like then.
So as we headed off shopping this evening it occurred to me it’d be great if we could all have our own little version of “This is your life” but written initially by our parents then eventually ourselves as we grow old enough.
As I’ve just started playing with blogs myself (like this one) it also seemed an obvious leap to use a blog to do so. We could then attach audio files, digital camera pictures and video. Plus it’s a great way to be able to share all the latest news with friends and family - especially as we all tend to live further away from each other these days.
It occurred to me that this could be a fun business idea, provide a service that hosts and backups a blog. It could be called BlogMyLife. If you charged say £30 per year that’d probably be a nice little profit.

This blog is about business opportunities and ideas that I spot, think of or hear about and think are useful and interesting. It is intended to provide ideas and inspriation for you to help you find the right business idea for you to then grow it into a successful business.

Have a look at http://www.fromyoutome.com - we are doing something very similar to capture the memories of your parents and grand-parents through a range of Journals. Cheers, Neil
I look forward to a Baby one!
